B. Balenciaga Skin- my go-to fragrance this season

B.-Balenciaga-Skin

B.-Balenciaga-SkinB. Balenciaga Skin is a newest addition to my perfume collection. With stunning notes of bergamot, green tea and soya bean, this fragrance has quickly become one of my Autumn favorites.

Without a doubt, the first thing that I loved about this scent is the stunning packaging. The classic six-sided architectural design and a stunning arch cap with rose-gold detailing create a unique construction that’s almost art-like.

Now, for the scent itself- I have nothing but love. B. Balenciaga Skin is a more delicate and feminine version of B. Balenciaga that was launched back in October of last year. B. Balenciaga skin opens with gorgeous notes of bergamot, soya bean, lily of the valley and green tea. As the fragrance evolves, it then reveals notes of violet leaf, peony and iris root. Then, it dries down with warm notes of cashmere woods, base of cedar, vetiver and ambrette seed.

In other words, the fragrance starts off a bit strong (I would say almost “spicy”) and eventually transforms into a very soft scent, one that actually reminds me a little of my husband’s favorite YSL cologne (which, btw I wear on occasion!). It’s a perfect mix of floral, woody and green accords, which is exactly what I love in a fragrance. It’s not overly feminine, sweet or powdery and has just a slight hint of muskiness. B. Balenciaga Skin also has a soft sillage and is long-lasting.

I think this fragrance is perfect for this time of the year, I don’t think I’d see myself wearing during summer a lot, but I think it would be great for spring. This is also definitely more of a night-time scent.

What scent are you guys loving at the moment?

I just recently have been trying out a lot of spicey scents after trying and loving Voctor and Rolf Spicebomb. It’s interesting that this one is spicey at first and then softens, I will have to give it a whiff when I’m at the store next <3

I love the bottle! Will definitely have to give this a sniff if I see it when I’m shopping! I’m so picky with perfume but love DKNY Be Delicious! It’s an oldie but a goodie!

Love the bottle of this perfume and it sounds like a scent I would like :) I love Jimmy Choo, the original one, for this time of the year, although I found it to strong for the day time I adore for the evening :) x

What a stunnnnner! Such a beautiful bottle and the scent sounds divine! Love how there are notes of green tea, and I do love any perfume that’s got floral notes. At the moment I’m loving “Rain” by Marc Jacobs. It’s quite summery but has lots of nice unique vibes to it, a bit musky too. I think you’d love it if you’re yet to try it love ;) <3

And aww, it's cool that you wear Mark's cologne, hehe, they say women can rock men's clothes and shizz well so we can damn well rock cologne too right? ;) :D

Thanks so much Soph! And yes, I’m obsessed with men’s cologne! I’m usually not much of a fan of scents that are too sweet or overly feminine. Sometimes I like to layer both my perfume and his cologne :)

You know, I never really wear perfumes because I have a really strong sense of smell. Like I used to be able to tell what my coworker was having for lunch or breakfast by the smell… I kind of wish every scent were toned down just a bit.

But, I have been testing a few perfumes and there are some really light ones that I like. I’ll check this scent out on my next trip to Sephora :)

I also have a very strong sense of smell and I’m obsessed with perfume and cologne hehe :) I’m the same way, when my husband walks in to the room from the kitchen, I can tell what he snacked on before he even comes near me haha:)

I just stumbled across your blog because of this review. Thanks for the great review; the autumn is just beginning here in New Zealand and I also think that B. Balenciaga Skin will make a great autumn fragrance. I have to say that I also love dogs and owls (and Harry Potter!).

    Hello :)

This scent was also my favorite one and since it’s out of production, do you have an equivalent scent you could recommend ?

    Thank you
