Let’s Talk Unwanted Hair with Completely Bare *

You might recall me talking about my struggles with unwanted hair on multiple occasions in the past- like that time when I shaved my upper lip when I was little because I thought I was starting to grow a mustache (and my mom always tells me that I was a smart kid). I was terrified when I noticed that the hair grew back and always felt self-conscious about it. Then, I grew up and realized that this is something that every other girl on the planet has to deal with.

I’ll also never forget the very first time I shaved my legs. My cousin and I had the whole thing planned. We bought a bunch of disposable razors, a can of shaving cream and kept them stashed in my room until a perfect opportunity presented itself. When one day, my mom asked us to babysit my brother, while she steps out of the house, we both looked at each other with that “today’s the day” look on our faces. While my brother was sleeping, I dug out the razors and the shaving cream and all I remember was that once I was done, I couldn’t believe how smooth my skin was and wanted it to feel like that all the time.

Many years have passed since then, and I’m always searching for hair-removing products that will not only bring good but also long-lasting results- because who wants to have to shave their legs, every single day?

Over the last couple of weeks I’ve been testing three Completely Bare products: Hypo-Allergenic Wax Strips for Face Bikini and Body, Bikini Bump Blaster and Don’t Grow There Body Moisturizer & Hair Inhibitor. All three of these are different products that work well not only on their own but also when used together.

Hypo-Allergenic Wax Strips for Face Bikini and Body is a wax kit that includes 42 wax strips: 12 body strips, 18 bikini/underarm strips and 12 face strips. Setting up, heating up the wax, cutting up the strips, applying the wax- this is all a little time consuming and I love that these Completely Bare Wax Strips are so easy and convenient to use. The key to getting the best results is this:

-warm the strips between your hands by rubbing them quickly between your hands several times

-press the strip in the direction of hair growth- I also rub the wax strip gently with my hand while pressing it on the skin as well

-while holding your skin taut, remove the strip in the opposite direction of hair growth

-remove any leftover wax using the completely off towelettes

I love using these on my arms (my arms are hairier than my legs, guys, so I’ve been shaving them for years) and my underarms. Practice makes perfect when using these and getting good results; you really need to warm up the strips between your hands nicely and work quickly while the wax is still warm. These Hypo-Allergenic Wax Strips didn’t irritate or burn my skin and I love that the whole process is quick and mess-free.

Another Completely Bare product that is great just in time for summer: Bikini Bump Blaster. Because we all show off a little more skin during summer, chances are you pay a little extra attention to those usually covered areas of your body- like your bikini line. Constant shaving and waxing can not only irritate your skin but also cause ingrown hair. It’s a body moisturizer that helps reduce hair density, length and growth and all I have to say is that IT WORKS! This stuff is good. This stuff is really, really good. When I shave my legs, they only stay smooth for about a day, and pale skin and dark hair isn’t a good combo. I started using this moisturizer twice a day and I swear that I noticed a difference after just a few days of use (even though the product says that results will show after 28 days of use). I am so impressed with this moisturizer and I’ll be honest and say that when I first received it, I was a little bit skeptical about whether or not it’d work. I really don’t think that I’ve tried a similar product before and I can’t remember when was the last time I was this impressed with a hair-removing product. It’s lightly scented with lemongrass and green tea, it’s very gentle on  skin and leaves it feeling smooth. This is another summertime must-have for me since it means I don’t need to shave my legs every single day. If any of you have dark hair and find that you need shave pretty much every single day, you need to give this lotion a try!
