MAC Shy Girl

MAC Shy Girl Review

MAC Shy GirlHappy Monday everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend! The weather finally broke here over the weekend so I took advantage of that and spent an entire weekend reading in our backyard. Looks like today we’re back to rainy gloomyville though :( .

Today I’ll tell you all about the recent addition to my MAC lipstick collection, and a new favorite. I’ve always found it difficult to find a sheer, nude/peachy lipstick that looked nice with my skin tone. I picked up Shy Girl some time a go, and I’ve been reaching for it quite often lately, especially when using very light bases such as tinted moisturizers or BB creams.

Shy Girl is a creamy, neutral/peachy beige nude with a Cremesheen finish, it’s also one of MAC’s top sellers. I love Cremesheen finish lipsticks, especially how smooth they apply and how comfortable they feel on my lips. Shy Girl is no exception, although I find that I do need to exfoliate my lips before applying this, because it tends to settle in the little lines on my lips and does accentuate dry skin. Shy Girl is also on a sheer side, which I love because it means that I can apply it even when I’m in a hurry, without the need of a lip liner or a mirror. It lasts for about 2-3 hours one me, much longer when paired with MAC’s lip primer.

MAC Shy Girl Review

I think that Shy Girl is a shade similar to another everyday favorite of mine: Pure Zen. Shy Girl definitely has more peachy tones, while Pure Zen looks slightly more pink.

Have any of you guys tried Shy Girl? Maybe you know of other peachy nudes from MAC I should try?

I’m dying to try their foundations & lipsticks (especially Candy Yum Yum and a nude colour like this one here)…

This looks gorgeous! I’m really wanting to test out more of these types of shades so I will definitely be checking this out in person when I’m at my local MAC store next!

Shy Girl looks like a lovely peach-y nude! I often find these shades very difficult to wear though so need to check this shade in person :) x

I know what you mean! It’s definitely one of those shades that you need to see in person first, especially if you have a lighter skin tone ;)

I’ve been looking for the perfect, peachy nude for such a long time now! I don’t think I can decide which I like more between Shy Girl and Pure Zen… Maybe I’ll have to get both! :’)
I’ve just been reading some of your photography tips after being in awe of all of your photos and they’ve been so so useful! Thank you!

This lipstick is gorgeous!! Pure Zen would probably suit me more has it’s more pink but they’re both beautiful! The one lipstick I have from Mac is Diva is way more a winter color! Xx

By the peachy shade I think this is one I would need to try in store to make sure it doesn’t mask my lips. I do like the look of Pure Zen though x

Mmm. Shy Girl is nice, but I really want to try Pure Zen, I’ve never actually heard of it. Looks lovely.

Oooh my what a beaut! Shy Girl is such an eye-catching shade of perfection. The peachy nude tones really pack such a punch, especially for these hotter months! A sure fire holiday essential for the beach :D The swatches look so summery and stunning on you Paula! <3

So happy you had a nice chill weekend reading in your backyard, some chill out time is so very well deserved on your part love, and it sounds perfect. Hope the sunshine returns ;)

This color is so so beautiful! I’ve never tried it, but now i want to. I think it would look good on every skin type! And i agree, these two colors are a bit similar, but i kind of like Shy Girl more, maybe it’s the name:)
