Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix

Nip and fab glycolic fix pads reviewNip+Fab Glycolic Fix

I love glycolic acid (or perhaps I should say my skin LOVES glycolic acid). One of my favorite skincare products is Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peel. It’s just one of those products that I won’t go without despite it being pricey. Because of my love for Dr. Dennis Gross ABP, I didn’t have high expectations for Nip+Fab’s Glycolic Fix pads. Boy, was I in for a surprise!

I’m used to using products that have glycolic acid concentrations as as high as 10%. Nip+Fab’s Glycolic Fix pads have a concentration of 4% (with pH being around 4-4.5), which is probably less than I would like, but this does have some pros. First, there is no tingle or discomfort when using these, and I actually swear that they calm my skin, soothe it and relieve any redness I may have. Also, having 4% concentration, I’d imagine that even sensitive skin types would love this.

In addition to glycolic acid, these pads are also formulated with hyaluronic acid and glycerin that help hydrate the skin and blue daisy that soothes and calms. The recommended use is on clean skin (obviously, this goes without saying, don’t try to take off your makeup with this…) once or twice a day. It has a very delicate, pleasant scent, it absorbs quickly and leaves my skin feeling awesome. I’ve read that few people reported their skin feeling a bit sticky afterwards, but this isn’t the case for me (my serum and moisturizer absorbs like a dream after using these).

Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix

After a few weeks of use, I did see improvement in my skin. I usually break out once a month (hormonal breakouts) and sometimes end with post-acne hyperpigmentation. These pads really helped me tackle those small, red spots. You guys know I don’t like to use scrubs on my face too often, I’m a chemical exfoliation type of girl. Nip+Fab Glycolic Fix pads also exfoliate the skin, leaving it feeling nice and smooth. Another thing I noticed is those annoying dry, flaky patches that I always get in winter time have improved significantly since using these pads (I also used these on my arms and elbows where my skin gets really rough during cold weather).

This was my first Nip+Fab purchase and I’m VERY impressed. These Glycolic Fix pads are great at multitasking: they exfoliate, soothe and moisturize all at the same time and are also suitable for all skin types (and ages!). I found them at CVS for $13.00 (for 60 pads) and they actually had a Buy One Get One 50% off sale going on, so check your local CVS. These are definitely a great find and at an awesome price too. Ulta and Target also seem to be carrying Nip+Fab.

They’re really awesome, and I’m usually very picky about what I use on my skin!

I had a peel treatment done last month and while at first I didn’t notice that much of a difference, I’ve had zero breakouts since! I love the idea of easy upkeep with pads like these!

I bought some of these when they were on offer after hearing Miss Makeup Magpie rave about them but I have to say I do find that they leave my skin feeling slightly sticky. I’m not keen on this as I prefer my skin to feel clean and dry before I start applying serums/oils/moisturisers so I don’t think these are really for me x

That’s exactly what I mentioned in the post, I read a few reviews that also said the same thing, but I didn’t find them to be sticky at all. Shame these didn’t work for you! :(

I’m definitely a chemical exfoliant type of girl too, so I’m super interested in this. I usually use either Paula’s Choice liquid BHA or Stridex (in the red box), but I’d really like to try something with glycolic acid in it. Awesome find! :)

When I first tried these, they left my skin feeling sticky because I was letting my face dry before I used them. Now, when I’m finished washing my face, I wet a washcloth, wring it out, and blot my face with it so that my face is a little bit damp when I use the pads. This has eliminated the stickiness, and I love the results.

I read that a lot of people found this to be sticky, I don’t seem to have that problem. It’s great that these work so nicely for you! It’s really a lovely product.
