skincare favesIn the last few couple of weeks I came across few skincare products that really impressed me.

Number one has got to be Mario Badescu’s Buffering Lotion. It’s an overnight treatment formulated especially for deep, cystic blemishes and it works wonders. It has a very watery formula (it contains: Deionized Water, Isopropyl Alcohol,Sodium Sulfate, Zinc Oxide, Hydrolyzed Serum Protein, Hydrolyzed Yeast Protein,Pyridoxine, Niacinamide, Panthenol,Propylene Glycol, Allantoin, Biotin). I use a few drops on the area that I want to treat and leave it on overnight. This lotion works amazingly fast and really soothes those painful cystic blemishes, I even had few disappear overnight.

My next newfound favorite is Dermalogica’s daily microfoliant. I actually purchased this in an addition to their “medibac clearing” skincare system. I really wanted to like that system, but it only left my skin looking and feeling horrible, I broke out all over my face. At first I thought that this was just an initial reaction to the product, but unfortunately I just had to give up on it after three weeks. It left my skin looking ten times worse than before, which is a shame because that system seems to be working for many, many people.

After a while I remembered that I also bought the daily microfoliant, but was a little hesitant (and scared) to use it. I finally gave it a chance and can honestly say that it is one of the few Dermalogica products that works for me (you can recall that I’m a fan of their clearing mattifier, as well as intense moisture lotion). It contains Salicylic Acid and Rice Enzymes, which my skin seems to love. This product comes in a powder form, after I dispense about a teaspoon of the powder onto my hands, I just rub it into my cleansed, wet face. This changes the powder into a creamy, grainy paste that exfoliates the skin, leaving it very soft, but at the same time it’s really gentle. I also like using it on my neck and chest. A 2.6 oz bottle costs about $52.00, but last absolutely forever.

Next is the first REN product that I decided to try: ClearCalm 3 Replenishing Night Serum. This serum has a very “organic-y” feel to it (if that makes any sense ;) ). It is also a very soothing gel-like product that absorbs very quickly and reduces redness. It is one of my favorite moisturizers to use at night.

Finally, Roc Multi-Correxion 4-Zone Daily Moisturizer. It has SPF 30 and a formula that does not leave the skin feeling greasy. It helps with fading age spots/acne scars and has a very mild, pleasant scent. One of the main reasons why I like it is due to the fact that my skin isn’t extremely shiny after I use it, unlike many other SPF moisturizers. My skin simply looks a lot more healthy when I use it.
