What’s in My Makeup Bag: July

Even though I enjoyed going makeup-free for the majority of the month, I couldn’t stay away from it for an entire time.

I remember about 6-7 years ago, BareMinerals products were the only makeup products I’d reach for. Their original mineral powders were just so amazing, that I didn’t feel the need to use anything else. It’s really cool to see how the brand has grown over the years. One of their newest products is BarePro Performance Wear Liquid Foundation ($34)*. It’s a full coverage foundation, available in 30 different shades. I find that all I need is 2-3 pumps for a full coverage and I get the best results when using their Luxe Performance Brush or a beauty blender. This is a really long-lasting foundation. I think that anyone with oily/combo skin would absolutely love it. My skin is on the dry side, still, so I do have to make sure I moisturize it well when using this foundation. Also, really loving the glass + pump packaging.

I love natural-looking cheek products and I can’t stop reaching for this little Sheer Cheek Gel from Pixi in Natural ($14). It’s so easy to overdo it with many blush/bronzer products, but it’s pretty much impossible with this one. It has a formula of a sheer gel that blends very easily and gives a natural-looking finish.

Speaking of cheek products, in addition to the BareMinerals new BarePro liquid foundation ($34), I’m also currently testing their BarePro Contour Face-Shaping Powder Trio ($34). Now, when it comes to contour, just like with blush, I like to keep things natural. This trio comes in two versions: Fair to Medium and Tan to Dark. I was actually gifted the latter, which is a bit too warm for my fair skin, but I do find these powders to blend very nicely and love how natural the finish is. The key here is to not use too much product.

Charlotte Tilbury’s Instant Look in a palette in Natural Beauty ($75) is a perfect, travel-friendly palette for creating natural looks. I’ve had this palette for a while now, and whenever I can’t decide on where to do go with my makeup, I end up reaching for it (it’s also on sale right now!)

One of my favorite light or no-makeup/makeup products is Guerlain’s Meteorites Baby Glow Foundation ($54). Not surprisingly, I reach for it all the time. It’s very lightweight with some nice coverage and a natural finish. My only wish is that it wasn’t so heavily fragranced (I guess you can’t always have it all).

I also received another amazing VoxBox from Influenster, containing Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic palette in Glambition ($49). Just like most of Marc Jacobs Beauty products I’ve tried, I’m in love with this palette. The shadows are soft, creamy, blend nicely and I really like the shade selection. Also, they’re really nicely pigmented- just look at the swatches!

BareMinerals BarePro Foundation in 04 Aspen and 06 Cashmere, BareMinerals BarePro Contour: Shade, Blend, Pop and Marc Jacobs Eye-Conic Palette in Glambition.

Buxom Bold Gel Lipstick in White Russian, Buxom Liquid Lipstick in White Russian, Pixi Sheer Cheek Gel in Natural and Guerlain Meteorites Baby Glow in #2.

Buxom Bold Gel Lipstick in White Russian and Liquid Lipstick in White Russian– both have an amazing formula but are actually 2 different shades. The gel lipstick is a perfect, natural *everyday* shade, while the liquid lipstick is very light and not easy to pull off if you have fair skin, though.

What’s in your makeup bag at the moment? Anything fun and new? Maybe some re-discovered favorites?
