Carol’s Daughter Monoi Hair Mask

monoi repairing hair mask carol's daughter

I love using hair masks, right after a nourishing mask treatment my hair always feels smooth, soft and is a lot more manageable. Just like with my shampoo/conditioner, I like to alternate between different hair masks, simply because I think that my hair gets “used” to the product after a while, and no longer gives me the desired effect. Lately I’ve been loving Carol’s Daughter MONOI repairing hair mask that is supposed to prevent hair breakage.

I’ve had this mask for a few months (I got it in one of the Allure Beauty Boxes) but only recently started using it. I’ve never used any Carol’s Daughter products, although I heard great things about the brand, especially about their hair products. This mask is natural, so it’s not loaded with chemicals; it contains no parabens, no petroleum, no mineral oil and no artificial colors. Monoi oil, one of the main ingredients in this mask is a repairing Tahitian blend of the Tiare Gardenia Flower and Coprah Coconut Oil. The mask also contains rebuilding Bamboo Water and protective Hydrolyzed Silk. Yet another thing that I have to mention is the smell, which is D-I-V-I-N-E, a very unique, delicate scent that is just so pleasant I wish I could sleep with this mask in my hair.

I use this as a treatment about once a week, usually just apply it in place of my conditioner, leave it on for about 5 minutes and rinse well. Once in a while I leave it on for longer-about 45 minutes, when my hair needs a little extra boost. Monoi Repairing Hair Mask leaves the hair feeling smooth, and strong. I’d love if the packaging were a bit more convenient (tube, perhaps?) as sometimes it’s hard to open and close the plastic jar when you’re in the shower and have wet hands. Another minus has got to be the price of this baby-$32.00 for a 7.0 oz jar, but I do have to say that it has nice creamy but quite liquid-y consistency and not a lot is needed to treat hair my length (shoulder length, my hair is quite thick as well). As I’ve mentioned before I got this mask in one of the Allure beauty boxes (that costs about $50.00 and is filled with beauty products worth up to $250.00), so I practically got this product for free. While it’s an amazing treatment, I’m not sure if I’d buy it once I run out, just because $30.00 is a bit steep in my opinion, especially since Neutrogena has an amazing mask that gives similar results and costs about $5.99.

Have you guys heard of Carol’s Daughter products?

I have never heard of this brand yet I feel that my hair does need a boost! I’ll keep a look out in the stores, yet likewise to yours, my hair is super thick, but it’s also long! So a LOT of product will be needed!
    Great Review!!

The picture in itself made me feel refreshed already :D I really need to use more hair masks; my hair is so damaged right about now! The fact that it is natural and not loaded with chemicals sounds great. Think I might have to add this to my ever growing lust list ;)
