THIRTEEN THOUGHTS

Bye Bye Under Eye Illumination- IT Cosmetics

Bye Bye Under Eye Illumination- IT Cosmetics

Ladies and gentlemen, we’ve got ourselves another favorite.

Not surprisingly, it’s from one of my favorite makeup and skincare brands: IT Cosmetics. Bye Bye Under Eye Illumination*- a concealer that does it all: hydrates, illuminates, covers and doesn’t crease. If you know how to use it properly, that is. Yes, it can be tricky to apply. The thick formula can make it difficult to work with at first, but once you figure it out, you won’t look back. Promise.

From IT Cosmetics:

Bye Bye Under Eye™ Illumination minimizes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, brightens the eyes, and works as a spot concealer or all-over foundation to visually camouflage facial imperfections with no creases or cracks. Infused with antiaging hydrolyzed collagen, peptides, vitamins, hyaluronic acid, and antioxidants, this multiaction formula is clinically shown to make skin look younger. Plus, it’s enhanced with drops of light technology™ to cast a radiant, lit-from-within glow. With the same formula as the best-selling, award-winning Bye Bye Under Eye™ Anti-Aging Concealer, this cream is enhanced with brighteners for more vibrant results.

The coverage is just as good as with the original Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer

What I love:

– this concealer has insane coverage. I’m taking dark circles, age spots, acne scars- it covers everything.
-I love using this under my eyes- it really does illuminate the skin beautifully.
-it’s one of the very few concealers that doesn’t crease on me or look cake-y
-it’s a VERY potent/concentrated product so a tube will last you for ages
-it’s great at battling/covering redness
-it has some hydrating properties, so it also leaves the skin looking and feeling healthy. At the same time though, it doesn’t have an oily or heavy-feel finish.
-it brightens skin very nicely

What I don’t love:

-this product comes only in four shades: Light, Medium, Tan and Deep. I really wish there were a few more options, although both light and medium seem to work really well for me.
-at first, it’s a little difficult to dispense the product, since the consistency is thick, but I find that just like with the original Bye Bye Under Eye, the more I use it, the tube becomes softer and it’s much easier to squeeze out the product.
-the thick consistency can make this product tricky to use, so you sort of need to know what you’re doing

Bye Bye Under Eye Illumination in Light, Medium, Tan and Deep. If using this as an under-eye concealer, I go with Light. For everything else (like in place of foundation or for spot-concealing, I use Medium).

Now, don’t let the “Illumination” scare you off. This concealer has no hints of glitter or shimmer. What it does have, is a nice, glow-within finish. It can be used as an all-over foundation, too. The key is to really warm up the product well before applying it- this is why I find that it works best when applied using my fingers (I pat, don’t rub). Due to its rich and creamy consistency, it’s very easy to overdo it with this concealer (meaning, apply too much). A little bit most definitely goes a long way.
