Pretty Essie Neutrals

Essie is without a doubt my favorite nail polish brand. They have an incredibly wide range of colors and come at a great quality.

For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been particularly in love with Essie’s neutrals. They’re not too bright, not too pastel-y so they make for a perfect Summer-Fall transition. I went through my stash and picked up a couple of favorites that I now use in rotation: Tuck it in my tux, Urban jungle, Limo-scene, Spin the bottle, Ladylike, Take it outside, Chinchilly and Mochachino. The two that I reach for the most are Tuck it in my Tux and Limo-scene.

All of these have a smooth and clean finish, with the exception of Mochachino, which has a little glitter in it. Some of them are on the sheer side (like Limo-scene and Tuck in it my tux) and some of them are completely opaque (like Ladylike and Take it outside).

Essie Tuck it in My Tux

Tuck it in My Tux– subtle, classy, a bit sheer and feminine creamy ivory-great alternative to white polish.
Urban Jungle– alabaster orchid shade that’s both edgy and simple.
Limo-scene sheer pastel pink that’s a bit more pigmented than Ballet Slippers. Timeless, simple and very lady-like.
Spin the bottle– stunning semi-sheer nude that has just enough pink tones to not look overly peachy or pink.
Ladylike– gorgeous, elegant, soft mauve-y neutral. Perfect for those who don’t feel comfortable with peachy or pinky nudes.
Take it outside– this taupe-y grey with just a hint of pink was my favorite last year and I’m still not over it.
Chinchilly– granite grey with a slight lavender tint.
Mochachino– this perky brown-grey is the only one out the eight mentioned here that has a bit of a shimmer in it.
