THIRTEEN THOUGHTS

Essie “Perennial Chic”

Essie Perennial Chic SwatchHaving always had issues with finding a nice, creamy nude polish that didn’t “blend” into my skin, I was very hopeful when I picked up Essie “Perennial Chic”, which is one of the colors from their Spring 2015 collection.

As soon as I applied that first coat, I knew this was it; I’ve finally found a true nude polish that looks flattering on my skintone. Essie describes “Perennial Chic” as “tawny tulip”, but I think it’s more of a peachy nude. What I love most about this color is that it isn’t an innovative or unusual shade, but rather a classic that’s sure to stand the test of time. It’s classy, elegant and very stylish. I think that it would look especially pretty on very long, or very short nails.

The formula of Essie “Perennial Chic” couldn’t be dreamier. With nude shades like this one, the formulas always tend to be a little runny, but not in this case. This color is so very creamy and smooth-two coats gave a perfect coverage. I was very pleasantly surprised with easy and even application.

With Spring and Summer collections we always tend to see a lot of brights (usually pinks and purples) being introduced, and I have to say that I love the fact that Essie decided to make such a classic shade like “Perennial Chic” part of their Spring collection.
