THIRTEEN THOUGHTS

IT Cosmetics Holiday 2016 Collection

Don’t know about you, but I can never have enough makeup brushes.

I have a few favorite brushes that I NEED to wash right after using- other than those few, I just rotate between a bunch, until it’s time to clean them all. I can already tell that a few of these brushes from IT Cosmetics, will also quickly become my favorite.

This Holiday season Ulta will be selling two exclusive Makeup Brush Sets: All That Glitters Set* ($58.00), including  Brilliant Powder Brush,  Radiant Foundation Brush, Stunning Eyeshadow Brush,  Luminous Concealer Brush, Dazzling Liner/Brow Brush and Exclusive Shimmering Case, and City Chic Brush Set* ($68.00) that comes with a Chic Powder Brush, Chic Blush Brush, Chic Foundation Brush: Flat, Chic Eyeshadow Brush, Chic Crease Brush and an Exclusive Rose Gold Bag. You get 5 brushes in each set, so I’m not sure why the $10.00 difference.

All of the brushes- in both sets- are incredibly soft, definitely some of the softest brushes I’ve used. I was a little disappointed that the Chic Powder Brush* wasn’t as big and fluffy as it appears on pictures online, I also noticed that a few bristles were a bit uneven/sticking out. I love the rose gold handles on the City Chic set- they’re very light to handle, too. All That Glitters* is a very festive set, I’m happy to report that the glitter handles are sealed, meaning, the glitter doesn’t transfer or fall off. The Radiant Foundation brush is one of my favorite brushes from IT Cosmetics, I love using it with their CC+ cream, but it works nicely as a cheek product brush, too.

The Je Ne Sais Quoi Complexion Perfection Palette* ($42.00) is part of the permanent collection and has four products:  Perfect Lighting luminizer highlights and enhances your features, best-selling Bye Bye Pores Pressed Powder to make your pores disappear, Bye Bye Pores Blush in signature Je Ne Sais Quoi shade brightens your complexion, Sunshine in a Compact Bronzer adds your perfect summer glow.

One thing that I really love about this palette is the size of the pans; they’re huge, especially when compared to my other face palettes. I already use and love the Sunshine in a Compact Bronzer– it was my summer staple!- and I’m really loving the other three face products from this palette. The blush might be a little too pink for my liking, but it looks pretty and natural when applied sparingly. I was really happy when I got my hands on this palette especially after seeing how much Emily loves it.

Two other product included in this collection are these cute holiday ornaments: Confidence in a Cream* ($16.00) and Superhero mascara* ($12.00). These definitely make for perfect stocking stuffers. I’m a big fan of both these products- I’ve talked about the Superhero mascara a few times already (you can find my full review here) I also have a few minis of the Confidence in a Cream in my makeup bag. This cream is very thick and works amazing under makeup. I don’t love using it unless my skin feels dry- it’s the type of product that works well at soothing dry, irritated skin and it helps to get rid of those post-breakout flakes. You guys know that even though I’m naturally very (I’d go as far as to say extremely) oily, my skin feels very dry most of the time because of all the retinoid products I use for my acne.  Confidence in a Cream is one of the few creams that actually helps me get rid of that dry and flaky skin that Tazorac and Retin-A Micro leave behind.

The brushes are definitely my favorite part of this collection!
