THIRTEEN THOUGHTS

Five drugstore products I’m loving right now

jergens-wet-skin-moisturizer-review

I love roaming beauty isles in my local drugstore. Over the last month or so, I’ve been trying a lot of different products; some new, some not so much…

…and I’ve discovered a few that I really, really liked.

Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer with Refreshing Coconut Oil– this is probably my favorite out of the five. Before I go this, I also used Nivea’s In-Shower Body Lotion and I have to say that I didn’t like it a whole lot. The one from Jergens seems to work a lot better for me- my skin actually feels soft and moisturized for hours, whereas the Nivea one didn’t really impress me, plus it smelled like Nair. There is also a difference with the application- with the Nivea one, you’re supposed to massage it in wet skin and then rinse it- with Jergens you do the same thing, but there’s no need to rinse. Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer smells amazing, it has a thick and creamy formula but it isn’t greasy and most importantly, it leaves my skin feeling amazing. When I wake up in the morning, my skin still feels moisturized and nourished. I love this stuff!

Redken Pillow Proof Express Primer– I don’t blow dry my hair too often, but when I do I always like to use light primers (one of my all-time faves is by L’Oreal, I reviewed it right here). Redken’s Pillow Proof Express Primer reduces the blow-dry time, it provides heat protection and helps prevents breakage. I apply it on sections on towel-dry hair while blow drying. I also noticed that my hair doesn’t get as frizzy and puffy when using this. Bonus? This stuff smells amazing.

Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant– I don’t know if it’s just me, but it seems like every single deodorant brand is jumping on the “dry spray” bandwagon trying to make it seem like it’s a new thing, when in fact, these have been around forever. I think I received this one in one of my Allure Beauty Boxes and the main reason I like it, is because it leaves absolutely no residue. I don’t use it daily, I notice that I reach for it when I wear black/dark clothing. I also love that it’s easy to wash off in the shower, this might be a bit of a TMI, but some of the deodorants I’ve used (especially ones from Dove) are hella hard to wash off in the shower. The scent is very pleasant but it can be overwhelming a little- so I guess it depends on your preference, I can definitely smell it throughout the day.

EOS Shave Cream– Even though I’ve been using the Tria Laser Hair Removal System for a couple of years, I still shave my legs (truth is, I get a bit lazy and forget to use the laser, it’s just so time consuming!). When using shaving creams and gels, I always go for those for sensitive skin. This EOS shave cream is so nourishing and moisturizing, it can be used dry or wet, has super cute packaging (love the pump!) and smells really nice too. I feel like a lot of shaving creams/gels tend to dry out my skin, so it’s nice to use something that actually leaves your skin feeling moisturized. The only thing is that if you apply too much it might clog your razor, so definitely keep that in mind, and, when you start running out of the product, the pump just refuses to cooperate and stops dispensing product.

Yes to Cucumbers Cooling Hydrating Mist– You guys know just how much I love facial mists, and this one is no exception. It’s probably one of the most moisturizing facial mists I’ve ever used, it almost feels like a spray-on-lotion. It actually feels a little foamy/frothy at first, but it absorbs nicely and leaves the skin feeling exceptionally refreshed. I love using this right after shower. It’s formulated with cucumber and aloe, and cool thing is, is that it smells just like cucumbers, but it’s not the common, very artificial cucumber scent. It actually smells like fresh cucumbers. When I do use it however, I have to remember not to overdo it because it can get a little sticky if too much is applied.

Have you guys tried any of these products?
