THIRTEEN THOUGHTS

Just peachy

best-nude-nail-polishesA nude is never just a nude. They come in different depths and tones and for the last couple of weeks I’ve been all about that peachy nude.

You’ve probably noticed that my nail game has been a little boring lately, but hey, we all go through those phases sometimes. Before I dust off all my black, brown and burgundy polishes that I usually bring out for Fall, I wanted to show you four of my favorite peachy nudes. Sort of a farewell, if you will. Because I know that once Fall officially hits, I’ll start obsessing over deep and dark colors all over again. Which will also probably last a while.

So peachy nudes, eh? Why do I love them so much? For starters, they keep things neutral. They look feminine, clean and classy. Because such shades are so close to the color of skin, they also sort of elongate the fingers and make my hands look lengthened.

Some of my favorite peachy nudes are: Tom Ford “Show Me the Pink”, Dior “Sunkissed”, Essie “Back in the Limo” and Dior “Charnelle“. I recently reviewed “Show Me the Pink” right here. It has a thick, creamy formula with a slight hint of silver sparkle. This nail polish will stay on your nails until you remove if (for which you’ll probably need some paint thinner…. just kidding, but really, this polish is a bit difficult to remove).

Dior “Sunkissed is probably my favorite out of the four. First of all, Dior polishes are my favorite high-end brand. They have a great and very easy to work with formula and an awesome brush. “Sunkissed” is just this gorgeous, glossy peachy color that’s universally flattering. I reviewed it right here.

Dior “Charnelle” is, as you’ve probably guessed, very similar to the other shades here. I think that as compared to the other three, “Charnelle” has a lot more of those pink hues, but I’d still file this under the “peachy” category. As with all Dior polishes, the formula is great.

And Finally, we have Essie’s Back in the Limo. This color is the sheerest of them all. It still has that nude-peachy color to it, but it’s definitely not as pigmented as the other three. If I can’t commit to a color or simply can’t decide what color to paint my nails, I usually reach for “Back in the Limo”. This shade is a peachy cousin of one of my other favorites from Essie: “Limo-scene” (find my review and swatches here) which is also sheer and nude, but more on the pink side.
