THIRTEEN THOUGHTS

NYX Suede Color Palette

nyx suede palette reviewI was pretty bummed when I missed out on this limited edition eyeshadow palette by NYX this summer. You can imagine how excited I was when I saw it being back in stock at my local Bed, Bath & Beyond.

NYX is one of my favorite drugstore brands (especially in the lip product department!!) but I have to admit that I was never attracted to their eyeshadow palettes (don’t ask me why). This Suede Shadow Palette is a bit different though; it has these gorgeous, rich, jewel-toned eyeshadows that I fell in love with.

This palette comes with 8 different eyeshadow colors. The top row consists of creamy, coppery, shimmery neutrals that I have to say work great with my blue eyes (coppery shadows usually bring out the intensity of blue eyes) while the bottom row has deeper and richer colors. I especially love Forrest Green Pearl and Copper Pearl with Shimmer.

The formula of these eye shadows is smooth, creamy and velvet-y, with minimal fall out. They all have a luminous, shimmer finish and suede-like texture. For $12.00, this is definitely a great, little palette to have as it’s quite versatile and allows to create both delicate and more intense eye looks. I noticed that it’s out of stock at Ulta, but you can find it on NYX’s website right here. The only downside to this palette, is the fact that the packaging is cheaply made. It’s made out of cardboard with only a thin, plastic film covering the product. I’d definitely be careful when storing these.

What you see on this swatch is a single layer of each shade, without any primers. As with most eyeshadows, these have a more intense color payoff when they are layered and used on top of a primer.
