THIRTEEN THOUGHTS

OPI First Class Desires

It’s been a while since I had a new nail polish swatch for you guys, hasn’t it? I’ve been giving my nails a little rest, but when I saw OPI’s First Class Desires polish I couldn’t wait to paint my nails with it.

First Class Desires is a polish from the OPI’s Gwen Stefani Holiday 2014 collection. It is a beautiful eggplant color with a gorgeous shimmer finish that is smooth and glitter-free (really a breeze to remove).  It doesn’t bleed like a lot of dark polishes and it has nice opacity, I applied my usual two coats and it worked great.

It’s definitely one of those shades that is a bit difficult to capture in photos, because it changes depending on the lighting. For the most part, it looks like a deep purple with golden shimmer, but it changes into a dark brown in direct sunlight. I absolutely love the gold sparkles in this polish and I think that it compliments the brown-purple beautifully. This is definitely a great and fun alternative to deep, black or brown polishes that I love wearing so much during winter.

In direct, natural light-definitely looks more on a brown side here.

Here it is with a flash. You can clearly see how it changes colors, there’s a bit of red, purple, brown and gold in there.

First Class Desires is definitely a one-of-a-kind shade. I have to say that I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything similar to this color (I think that Chanel’s Taboo polish may be slightly similar, minus the brown hues). I can definitely see this color becoming a holiday favorite for me.
