THIRTEEN THOUGHTS

Revlon ColorBurst Matte Lip Balms

Revlon ColorBurst Matte Lip Balms

Revlon ColorBurst Matte Lip Balms…Every now and then there is a drugstore beauty product that comes out and makes girls go crazy. I’m not exactly sure when these Revlon ColorBurst Matte Lip Balms came out, but I was not able to get my hands on them, despite of visiting tens of drugstores, every single display was empty. Whenever I did find them, the shades I was interested in were out of stock, or they were opened, used and put back on the shelf (typical… drugstores really do need to start providing samples).  I finally found some in a local CVS and even though I wanted to buy all ten shades, I picked four that I liked the most.

From left to right: Showy, Unapologetic, Audacious and Striking.

These balms have an incredible finish, even though it’s matte, it’s velvety, soft and comforting; the formula contains triple butter complex (shea, coconut and mango butters) that nourishes lips.  They last ridiculously long on the lips, I think that these are pretty comparable to Tarte’s Lip Surgence Matte Lip Tints. As with every other lip product with a matte finish, I’d recommend exfoliating and moisturizing your lips before applying the product as it can accentuate the dry bits.

From left to right, top to bottom, I’m wearing Revlon ColorBurst Matte Lip Balm in Audacious-bright orange, I think it’d look amazing on girls with deeper skin tones, Striking- bright orange-red, Unapologetic-fun and bright pink and Showy-very pretty purple-pink shade with blue undertones. The pigmentation is all the same with the four shades, great color pay off (with two-three coats) and smooth application. I have to say that Revlon Unapologetic and Revlon Showy are my favorite shades. Revlon Unapologetic is so fun and bright-perfect for summer time, while Revlon Showy is a bit out of my comfort zone (I don’t usually go for purple-ish shades) but I really liked how it looked on me.

Which shade is  of these Revlon ColorBurst Matte Lip Balms is your favorite?
