As soon as I saw Milani post an Instagram about their new Milani Moisture Lock Oil Infused Lip Treatment, ($8.49) I knew I had to get my hands on a few of these.
I had some CVS points that I had to use up before they expired, so I had a perfect excuse for hitting one of my favorite places: the drugstore.
This is how Milani describes Milani Moisture Lock Oil Infused Lip Treatment: “Discover a revolution in lip hydration plus a healthy dose of shine with a first-of-its-kind lip oil in 8 addictively scented, kiss quenching shades. All lip oils are formulated with the natural healing power of Jojoba, Avocado and Tsubaki Oil. As an added benefit, each shade is infused with different nutrient-dense oils that treat a specific concern. The soft, extra plush applicator hugs the curves of your lips, locking in moisture.” They come in 8 different versions: Moisturizing Almond Coco, Healing Lemon Honey, Rejuvenating Peach Mango, Conditioning Grapeseed, Repairing Primrose, Revitalizing Grapefruit, Protecting Pomegranate and Nourishing Raspberry.
Ingredients: (these may vary by shade) Polyglyceryl-2 Isostearate/Dimer Dilinoleate Copolymer, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil,Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Husk Oil, Silica, Flavor (Aroma), Benzyl Benzoate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Camellia Japonica Seed Oil, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Sambucus Nigra Fruit Extract, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil.

What I like about these:
-the packaging is nice I love the applicator, which is quite large and soft
-the formula is thicker than I expected, which is great because it applies very nicely and gives a glossy finish, sort of feels like a lip gloss, but isn’t sticky
-applies clear
-these work great for my lips, they left them feeling smooth, soft and nourished
-I love that they don’t actually have a flavor or aren’t overly fragranced
What I didn’t like:
-while I love the applicator, it’s so big that you end up getting just a little more than half the little tube of product
-I thought that this would be an ideal overnight treatment, however this only lasts on my lips for a bout 2 hours
-not as moisturizing as I had hoped, I thought this would actually be more “oily”
-I’m not sure if there are actually any differences between all eight of these
Overall I have to say that I like these little oils, but I can see how some can find these to be a little disappointing. The main reason why I like these is because my lips are pretty much always dry and cracked, especially during this weather and these oils bring instant relief for that dryness. The also feel amazing when applied right after a lip scrub. I wouldn’t use any other lip product on top of these, so don’t think of these as lip primers. Wish they were perhaps a bit more long-lasting but as someone who suffers from chronically dry lips, I’m used to constantly reapplying lip balm during the day (when not wearing lipstick). These are very nice for bringing instant relief to cracked lips, but will not replace a good lip balm.

January 20, 2016 at 10:27 amSuch a bummer! I saw these in my Walgreen’s just this weekend and thought the same, might be a good overnight treatment, but not if they don’t last more than 2 hours. :(
Great post as always Paula! So informative! :)

January 26, 2016 at 11:42 amThanks Leticia! These are nice for instant relief, but definitely not the best as an overnight treatment.

January 20, 2016 at 11:16 amI think I’d actually really like this. Just for a touch of comfort around the house when I don’t feel like using a heavy duty balm. The applicator reminds me a lot of the Clarins Light Comfort Oils.

January 20, 2016 at 11:52 amthis is a drugstore dupe for the Clarins Lip Oil! I haven’t seen any of these so far in Canada :(

January 20, 2016 at 1:54 pmThey look so similar to the Clarions version so I would be intrigued to try them mostly for that reason alone. Shame they aren’t as moisturising as they claim to be though x

January 26, 2016 at 11:52 amThey do! I don’t mind that too much though, because they do bring instant relief to dry lips.

January 20, 2016 at 2:38 pmThese look interesting but I don’t think I will try them. For some reason scented lip products make my lips super itchy.

January 20, 2016 at 2:39 pmI saw another review on this recently and the disappointments in the product were very similar. I MAY try one or two just to see if they vary on my lips, but I can tell I am definitely not a fan of that applicator.

January 20, 2016 at 5:13 pmThey sound nice for no makeup days to keep the lips hydrated but it’s a shame they’re not moisturising enough to make them ideal for the overnight treatment. They look similar to the Clarins Lip Oil :) x

January 20, 2016 at 6:16 pmName is really tempting, however shame that it is not really moisturising. My lips are dry most of the time, but it gets worse in winter so I can’t stop applying lip balm. If it won’t replace a good lip balm, I will probably skip it. For that price it doesn’t sound bad, I just wish it was better.

January 20, 2016 at 7:48 pmShame these didn’t quite live up to the name, they also look really tiny? I have dry and chapped lips a lot of the time as well and I went through a phase of trying multiple different lip products to combat it, but I’ve ended up just sticking with my trusty Dior Creme De Rose lip balm.

January 26, 2016 at 2:15 pmI was at Walgreens on Saturday and I was looking for these so I pulled up your blog on my phone real quick to read your review :) Sadly, they were all out anyway, but I still want to try them! They remind me of the old rollerball lipglosses I used as a kid.

April 8, 2016 at 12:26 pmEven I was expecting it to be really nice but to start I was completely put off by the applicator its too big, hard and weird, made it tough to apply the product, kind of pulled my lips. Not cute.
