Physicians Formula Eye Boost Instant Lash Extensions Kit
It’s been ages since I’ve used a fiber mascara. This Physicians Formula Eye Boost Instant Lash Extensions Kit was included in the most recent Allure Beauty Thrills Box and it was one of the many products I was especially excited to try.I haven’t had much luck with Physicians Formula mascaras in the past, I’ve always felt like they didn’t really do much for me, but I was still very curious about this one. The concept is pretty simple, you first coat your lashes with the mascara then follow up with applying the fibers, and finish off with another coat of mascara. You can repeat it as many times as you want, until you get a desired look.
A couple things here. Mascaras like these (meaning fiber mascaras) are not for everyone. When applying the fibers, it’s very important to shake off the excess from the brush first, as there will be quite a bit of fallout. These fibers will get all over your face, but the good news is that you can easily clean them up by swiping a big, fluffy powder brush around your eyes, nose, etc. If you’re wearing eye contacts, I’m not sure how well you’d get a long with this mascara as the fibers did get into my eyes. I didn’t find that they were irritating my eyes, I could definitely feel slight discomfort that did go away after about an hour or so.
Having to apply the mascara, then the fibers, then more mascara, etc. definitely takes a bit longer than your usual mascara application, so it’s not something I’d see myself doing every single day, but I’d say that it’s quite nice to use in place of false eyelashes on occasion. I actually really like the mascara itself, even before applying the fibers, BUT, it’s definitely one of these mascaras where you need to wipe the excess of prior to application. I was also surprised to see that this mascara did not flake throughout the day, which is something I’d expect for this type of product. Here my results:
Physicians Formula Eye Boost Instant Lash Extensions Kit: None, one coat of mascara, extension fibers+mascara
I was actually surprised at how much I liked this kit, but like I’ve mentioned above, it can get quite messy so it’s definitely not for everyone. The results can also be a bit clumpy, but this also depends on your application (I always make sure to wipe off any excess product and really work through my lashes with a clean spooly brush to separate them). What do you guys think? Did any of you try a fiber mascara before?

May 12, 2015 at 1:10 pmI’ve never tried a fibre mascara but I’d definitely be intrigued to try one and see how I get on. It definitely sounds like the kind of mascara you would use when you have time to play with your makeup though x
