Tom Ford Nude Dip

Tom Ford Nude Dip ($82) was released as part of the Fall 2014 collection but has since been added to a permanent lineup. I had my eyes on this beauty for a while now and finally got my hands on it a few weeks ago.

The centerpiece of the Tom Ford Color Collection. Each eye color quad is designed with four opulent, complementing shades that achieve multiple looks, from a bold smoky eye to a sexy slash of color and everything in between. 

Formulated with advanced color processes, the four luxurious finishes—sheer sparkle, satin, shimmer, and matte—offer a spectrum of intensity and effects that deliver incredible shade fidelity and outstanding adhesion. Two custom applicators included.

Tom Ford Nude Dip quad contains four, timeless neutrals: #1 (top left) a bright, golden champagne with metallic finish, #2 (top right) rosy- copper with a frosted finish, #3 (bottom left)  pearly warm taupe with a metallic finish and #4 (bottom left) deep, pearly brown with a satin finish.

The colors included in this palette are multi-dimensional, so they show off differently, depending on your skin tone and lightning. On me, in indoor lighting, these show off warm, in direct sunlight or outdoors, the undertones come off more neutral-cool.

What I love:

-I mean, the obvious, like the packaging- LOVE. It’s beautiful, sleek, very sturdy, has a huge mirror and comes with a pouch. What’s not to love?
-the texture of these shadows is unbelievable- like nothing I’ve ever used before. It’s buttery soft, dense, has no fallout and these basically apply themselves.
-all four colors are very wearable and work well together. Because they’re multi-dimensional, they’re perfect for a one shadow look.
-I’ve used these without any primers a few times and experienced no creasing or fading.
-the metallic and satin finishes are stunning. They’re not glittery or chunky at all and actually very easy to pull off.
-the pigmentation is insanely good and they blend amazingly well
-these colors work for any occasion- everyday wear to a night-time smokey eye

What I don’t love:

-even with TF, the applicators included in this palette are pretty useless
-I certainly COULD say that I don’t love the price ($82), but honestly, you DO get your money’s worth with this beauty

#2 all over the lid, #1 as a highlight and center of the lid, #3 and #4 in the crease and lower lash line. Used artificial lighting here, the colors come off more cool-toned.

What more can I say about this quad? I think it’s started a dangerous problem for me since now I want to get my hands on a few more of these (I have my eye on Cocoa Mirage next). I am so incredibly impressed with the formula, wear and staying power of these and think that this beauty is definitely worth the price if you can afford to splurge on it. These shadows feel, look and perform like a dream.
