Pixi Natural Contour Powder in Shape and Shadow

If you have fair skin like me and prefer subtle and natural-looking contour then you probably know that finding a bronzing/contouring powder that works with your skin tone can be difficult. Well, that is no longer the case for me.

One of the main reasons why I prefer cream over powder formulas when it comes to contouring, is because they blend much easier and with that, I have a lot more control over the intensity of the color. Pixi Natural Contour Powder* though is something else. It’s a powder, but one that blends seamlessly, easily, it’s very creamy, non-drying and most importantly, it looks very natural (but that doesn’t mean that you can’t go heavy with it, if you love more intense contour).

Pixi promises that this powder will help you “get a super-natural shaded effect with this luxe contouring powder. Easy-to-use formula enhances your natural features, creating definition when swept into the hollows of the cheeks, under the jawline, down the sides of the nose and in the crease of the eye. The formula is packed with peptides, a multi-vitamin complex, plus aloe vera, super fruit and coffee extracts to further enhance & nourish the complexion.”

Natural-Contour-Powder-PixiI have to say that over the last couple of months I’ve been trying more Pixi products and I’m slowly falling in love with the brand (their Endless Brow Gel Pen is now my favorite brow product, and I am very hard to please when it comes to my brows).

Why I love it:

-the formula is incredible, comfortable wear and blends well
-non-drying, even on my currently very flaky skin
-gives a natural-looking color, but it can also be built up for more intensity
-the color isn’t too warm or too cool- it’s just perfect, it doesn’t look muddy or orange-y
-very long-lasting formula
-the packaging is THE BOMB, very sturdy with a huge mirror

What I don’t like:

-honestly, there isn’t anything that I don’t like about this powder, perhaps the price might be a little high for some ($20.00) but seeing how much money I’ve spend in the past looking for a perfect product to work with my skin, I think that it’s completely worth the price

I’m really in love with this contour powder, if you have fair skin then you probably know how tricky it is to find a bronzing/contouring product that looks natural and works with your skin. I’m so glad that my struggle is over though!

If you guys know of any other natural-looking powders like this one, please let me know what your favorites are!

This bronzer does look like the perfect shade for pale skin! I’ve tried couple of things from Pixi before and was impressed with them, it’s definitely a brand I want to explore more :) x

I never tried Pixi products before but I’ve seen it around when we had Target in Canada. Love the green packaging of their products. This seems like a nice contour powder, it does not look too heavy.

This looks like the perfect contour shade! My favourite contour shade would probably be Taupe by NYX!

This looks amazing! I’ve never tried anything from the Pixi line but maybe I’ll purchase this contour shade, it also looks similar to the Charlotte Tilbury one from the bronze and glow.

Pixi is one of those brands that I really want to try out, but never seem to. I’m not gonna lie, I do like an orangey contour, but I’ve recently been getting into more brown-toned and more ‘natural’ kinds of contour! This looks like an awesome place to start in trying out their products, thanks for sharing!

This looks like a beautiful contour shade! I don’t own any Pixi, but I’m seeing so many positive reviews that I want to go out and try some stuff!

This looks like the perfect contour colour- pixi got it right. So many “contour” shades are a warm brown. This cool brown with grey undertones will replicate a true shadow. Looks like one for the wishlist tho I’m olive/tanned so would have to swatch it to see if it’ll show up on me. Nikki x

I agree! It’s really hard to find something that looks natural, especially if you have a light skin tone! This one is also builds up color easily, so you might like it ;)

I think this was sort of the whole point, to create a neutral and universally flattering yet natural-looking color for those who struggle with finding a bronzing powder that isn’t too warm or cool, but I see your point too! ;)

Yeah I guess, just not sure there would be any sort of payoff on my skin tone. Maybe I can swatch it if I find it in store!

I’d definitely swatch it in store. The formula is lovely and buildable, but I can see how it may not work the best with deeper skin tones. ;)

I haven’t tried any makeup items from PIXI, only skincare, but I’d love to give them a try! This bronzer sounds amazing, I’m definitely going to keep an eye out for it and hope I can swatch it in a store somewhere! Great review x

I’m pretty sure you’d love Kevyn Aucoin’s medium sculpting powder (odd name as it too only comes in one shade; I’ve heard there were others years ago which is why the name). The downside is that it is crazy expensive, but I love it SO much. He also makes a cream version & Sephora recent rereleased a palette that was originally out @ the holidays that is an amazing value; it’s not cheap ($60-something) but it includes larger-than-full-size!!! versions of both the powder & cream sculpting/contour shade, the creme & powder candlelight beautiful though more subtle highlight, compared to say Becca highlights), & four eyeshadows. I believe it is currently out of stock but will be back & I truly cannot recommend it highly enough. I have other contour products that I like well enough but this one was/is a true game changer for me!

I actually have and love Kevyn Aucoin’s Candlelight & Sculpting Medium Creamy Duo, I have the small compact though (the one that sells at $28), will have to see if I can get my hands on that powder. Love the sound of that palette to, definitely going to keep an eye out for it! Thank you so much for your recommendation!

My pleasure! I’m a nerd who often does value calculations for palettes/sets & this one was such an amazing value (w/in the realm of Kevyn Acoin at least!) that I kept double checking myself & before I saw it in person I truly thought the listed product weights had to be incorrect! I was so happy to see that it was brought back & am not a bit surprised that it sold out quite quickly. If you’re interested in any more than one of the products in it I highly recommend picking it up; if I can recall I believe the product page (on Sephora) specifies it being restocked in May, but you can always sign up for one of the restock notifications. I’m actually considering purchasing a back-up, which is very much NOT like me; i generally only buy back-ups of products I go through frequently, i.e. brow pencils, makeup remover, etc., and have actually never purchased a duplicate palette, but I’m seriously considering it. Of course can’t say that everyone will love it – & esp the sculpting powder – as much as I do, but (at the very least) I cannot imagine anyone w/fair or light skin regretting picking it up:)

P.S. I don’t think the exact shade matters in this case, but FWIW I’m N10 in CoverFX…closer to neutral but w/slightly warm-leaning undertones; my MAC # would be no more than an educated guess as I only purchase cruelty-free (which MAC is not).
