9 lipsticks for December

winter lipstick colorsHow do you transition your beauty look for winter?

To me, winter and holiday season always calls for matte, red lips, but that doesn’t mean that it’s the only lip color I stick to. I also love berry and nude shades. Today I’ll tell you all about some of my favorite, winter reds, berries and nudes. I’d also include MAC’s Taupe in this list, but since I already reviewed it right here, you probably know that it’s my recent favorite.

Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet La Merveilleuse– described as intense raspberry red, this bright blue-toned pinky red is perfect for those who don’t feel comfortable wearing intense reds and overly bright pinks. It has a lovely matte finish, and a smooth, velvet-like formula.

NYX Matte Lipstick in Alabama– As you probably know by now, these Matte Lipsticks from NYX are some of my favorites. Alabama is a brick-red with slight brown undertones. The formula is absolutely amazing, finish is completely matte, yet not drying.

Nars Jungle Red– Jungle red is described as a “bright red from the 1950’s silver screen.” It has a semi-matte finish and a very nice and smooth formula that feels very hydrating on the lips.

MAC Ruby Woo– This, of course is a classic. Beautiful dark red with blue undertones and a very matte finish. It’s intense and very long-lasting, but can be a bit drying. You can find my review right here.

NYX Perfect Red– This is one of my favorite reds and I think hat it really is, a perfect red. If you have fair skin and dark hair, I can guarantee that you will love this one. It’s brighter than Alabama, and still has that gorgeous matte formula.

Milani Ruby Valentine– Another gorgeous red with slight blue undertones and amazing, smooth formula. If you haven’t tried Milani lipsticks yet, you have to!

Pixi Mattelustre in Plum Berry– This plum shade has a gorgeous cerise berry tint. Smooth formula and beautiful lustrous finish. These lipsticks have a very smooth and nourishing formula, but they have to be combined with a lip liner, because they tend to feather out quite a bit.

YSL Rouge Pur Couture #70– A basic nude that is quite flattering on light skin tone, goes beautifully with everything and has a smooth and creamy formula.

MAC Shy Girl– Creamy, peachy nude with cremesheen finish. Shy Girl is definitely on the sheer side and a little similar to MAC’s Pure Zen. You can find my review right here.
