Guerlain Meteorites Baby Glow

A few weeks ago I showed you my little Spring Beauty Lust List and one of the products that I’ve mentioned was Guerlain Meteorites Baby Glow foundation. After trying out a sample that I received from Sephora, I knew that I had to get my hands on this beauty.

Guerlain’s Meteorites Baby Glow is a very sheer, skin-perfecting foundation. Despite providing only minimal coverage, Meteorites Baby Glow does make a big difference in skin’s appearance. It adds a subtle glow, evens out the skin tone, smooths the texture and leaves the skin looking youthful and refreshed. I think I might have mentioned this already but right now I’m using a prescription tretinoin cream, which makes my skin incredibly dry and prone to breakouts. After the initial week of using the tretinoin cream, my skin was so dry and irritated that wearing any kind of makeup was out of the question. Around the same time I also bought Guerlain’s Meteorites Baby Glow, and having already tried the sample, I knew that it wouldn’t further irritate my skin. After applying one thin layer, my red and blotchy skin looked more even-toned, what’s more important it didn’t burn during the application (I tried applying some of my favorite lightweight foundations, all of which left my skin with a slight burning sensation).

Guerlain Meteorites Baby Glow is formulated with rainbow-perfecting technology, meaning it’s infused with “rainbow” pearl pigments in red, blue, green, and gold shades that blend onto the skin to subtly correct, unify, and revive the complexion. This sheer foundation comes in three different shades: Light, Medium and Golden. I’ve used both Light and Medium, former being a better match for me. I think that even “Light” might be a bit too deep for those with very fair skin tones, and think it’s a shame that Baby Glow only comes in these three shades (although I do have to say that it really melts into the skin and since it is so sheer, you might get away with using a shade that’s a bit light/dark for your complexion). The packaging is great -love the pump- it really reminds me of Lioele Triple the Solution BB Cream. The fact that this has SPF of 25 is also a plus, although I would recommend using an SPF lotion underneath it (to provide adequate UV protection for your skin you’d have to re-apply this foundation every 2 hours and at $54.00 for 1oz of product, I doubt you’d want to do that ;) ).

Guerlain Meteorites Baby Glow Review

I believe that this was my first full-sized Guerlain makeup product purchase, and I am very much impressed. If I hadn’t tried the sample I’d probably not spend as much money on such a small amount of product, but I really do love how soft and natural Baby Glow feels on my skin, all while being gentle on my skin, that currently is very dry and irritated. It’s a perfect product to use on those days when you only have about five minutes to get ready.

That packaging looks gorgeous! A little off topic, but what % tretinoin are you on? I’ve been on 1% since August and I’m still occasionally dealing with flakey skin D:
Also, what polish are you wearing in this? It’s lovely!

Right?? I love the packaging of this! I’m using 0.025%. If your skin still gets flakey, I’d recommend sealing your moisturizer with petrolatum jelly. I apply a thick moisturizing cream about 20 mins after using the tretinoin at night and then follow up with a thin layer of Eucerin. I find that this helps quite a bit with flakey and dry skin. :) My polish is “Pink a Card” by Sally Hansen.
