IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream Illumination Foundation

Who doesn’t love a good, multitasking base that also leaves your skin feeling and looking healthy?

Right now, I’m loving fuller coverage products since I still have some post tretinoin purge hyperpigmentation that’s healing. At the same time though, I love a base that still lets my skin breathe and looks natural, something that does a great job at concealing any redness- since it saves me time and I don’t have to worry about concealers and correctors. IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream Illumination Foundation does pretty much all of the above.

“IT’s your color-correcting, full coverage cream enhanced with Drops of Light Technology® to give your skin the look of subtle radiance. It’s formulated in five shades that deliver full, flawless, perfect coverage, while protecting your skin with one of-a-kind UVA/UVB broad spectrum physical-only SPF 50+.

Clinically proven to increase skin hydration by 179% and improve skin texture, this breakthrough illuminating cream never creases, never cracks and instantly camouflages skin imperfections including dark spots. Plus it’s infused with an advanced anti-aging serum formulated with hydrolyzed collagen, peptides, vitamins and antioxidants that work in harmony to diffuse the look of wrinkles, minimize pores and give you the look of radiant, supple and flawless skin.

IT’s your anti-aging, hydrating formula infused with breakthrough brightening, color-correcting and nourishing ingredients, including niacin, algae, vitamins A, C, B and E and hyaluronic acid.”

As pretty much with every product, the claims are that it’ll basically be the only makeup product you’ll ever want to use, because, well it’s just so amazing. I picked up the shade Light (there are five shades: Fair, Light, Medium, Tan and Rich) and although it did look a bit dark on me at first, I find that once I set it with powder, it looks great. I usually use Makeup For Ever’s Pro Finish Powder in #113 or Nars’s Light Reflecting Powder to set my foundation in place. Even though my skin is dry right now from the Retin-A use, I’m naturally quite oily, so I always have to set my foundation with powder. I think that even if I didn’t have a tendency to get oily during the day, I’d still set this foundation with powder, because it’s just so illuminating it almost looks a bit shiny. I haven’t been using it long enough to notice a difference in my skin, but to be quite honest, I don’t expect that my skin’s texture will improve from using a makeup product. I will say this though; this CC Cream/Foundation is pretty amazing. I actually think that the formula is very similar to one of my favorite BB Creams: Lioele Triple the Solution.

IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream Illumination Foundation before and afterHere you can see before, after applying IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream Illumination and after I set it with powder.

What I like:

-the packaging is awesome, again, very similar to one of my favorite BB creams: Lioele Triple the Solution BB Cream
-the coverage is great, I’d say as far as to say that it can be build up to a full coverage
-SPF50 which is great, although I still use sunscreen when wearing this or any other BB/CC cream product
-it feels very comfortable on the skin, doesn’t accentuate dry patches, blends nicely
-doesn’t oxidize during the day
-when used with powder, it stays put pretty much all day on my skin
-it’s hydrating

What I don’t like:

-it can be a bit too “glow-y” for my liking, but I think that this will depend on your personal preference. I always have to use powder with this because I find it almost a bit too illuminating
-the shade “Light” wasn’t as light as I have hoped, but once I use my powder, it looks fine.
-I’m not a huge fan of the scent. It’s sort of lemony, reminds me of something I’d clean my bathroom with. The good news is, it doesn’t linger, as soon as the product is blended, the smell isn’t detectable.

IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream Illumination Foundation Light

Overall I have to say that I’m liking this CC Cream/Foundation. The coverage is definitely nice and it’s a perfect product for when you’re in a hurry- there’s no need to spot conceal and it will give your skin a nice, healthy glow.

I have the original version of this and absolutely love it – and even though it’s not the Illuminating one, it’s still quite glowy! I like that it gives so much coverage while still feeling light on the skin.

I really like the original one too, but I had to give it to my sister because the shade I got was a bit too dark for but the coverage was also very impressive!

I like the sound of this CC Cream and it gives really good coverage which I always like in my foundation. Plus the high SPF protection is great! We don’t have this brand in UK unfortunately but I will keep it in mind if I ever get the chance to get it. x

This looks gorgeous! I am using the YSL Fusion Ink as my main foundation at the moment (matte/velvet finish), but this inspired me to be on the hunt for a more illuminating foundation! Thank you!

I highly recommend! It feels like velvet on the skin, and the applicator is absolutely genius and spreads out your foundation nicely. Let me know if you do end up trying it x

Great review! I really appreciate your complete honesty about it as well. There are so many reviews that I read that always give glowing reviews, but when I buy the products, they never seem to be that great in the long run. This was very helpful. Thank you for your ever inspiring posts!!

Thanks so much Savvanah, I’m really happy you liked this post! I think that a lot of products work different for different people, that’s why I always make sure to mention my skin type and what I expect from a product :) Thanks so much for visiting!

This is defnitely something I’ll have to try. I’ve been looking for something for those mornings I’m headed to class and don’t feel like doing the whole face makeup routine at 7:30 am. Will surely be giving this a shot :)

Really interested to try some IT Cosmetics products, everyone seems to love them. I like that this has great coverage and SPF, usually you only get one or the other.

I have been wanting an It Cosmetics product for a while, I especially have my eye on their face products. This looks fantastic on you although it looks like it may be too yellow for me. Not a huge fan of lemony scents…

Oh yeah, this does have yellow undertones which I also don’t like, but once I set it with powder it looks fine. I also love that it’s so long lasting on me ;) The scent doesn’t linger, but it does kinda smell like something you’d clean your floors with (Pine Soil lol)
