NYX is, without a doubt, my favorite drugstore makeup brand, especially in the lip product department and their Soft Matte Lip Creams are my latest obsession.
I’ve already told you all about NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Milan, a while back. Since then, I picked up a few more gorgeous shades and I’m still hunting for that very last one on my list that always seems to be sold out or out of stock (Copenhagen, I’m coming for you!!). These matte lip creams have an incredible formula; it’s smooth and creamy but has a matte finish that’s non drying. They go on as a smooth cream, and dry out completely matte after a few minutes. The formula of these is just so unique and nothing like anything that I’ve used before. These are definitely on my “must-have” list when it comes to drugstore makeup products. As with any other matte lip products, I definitely recommend exfoliating and moisturizing your lips prior to application of these. Yes, the formula is incredible, but it’s not magic, if your lips are dry and chapped, these will only make it worse.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Tokyo. Described as “bubble gum pink”, Tokyo is one of my favorites to use during the day. I was afraid that it would wash me out at first, but fortunately, it doesn’t. Even though it looks very light, it looks quite natural with subtle hints of pink.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Milan. I already showed you Milan right here. It’s a mid-tone, blue-toned pink. With this color, I have to say that what’s in the tube looks very different from the color on the packaging. The actual color is a brighter pink, which I still love and I think it really compliments blue eyes.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in San Paulo. This is a gorgeous, plummy-pink color. As it goes on lips, it looks like a medium-toned pink, but dries to a beautiful, deep, berry pink color. This shade definitely seems like one that’s universally flattering on different skin tones.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Amsterdam. This is a bright, true, pure red. One great thing about this shade is the fact that, being a matte-finish product, it doesn’t bleed. I don’t wear red lipstick too often for that one, simple reason: it just gets everywhere. This is a nice alternative to a lipstick; I actually also tried layering this with NYX Matte Lipstick in a similar shade, and the finish was gorgeous.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Addis Ababa. This a bright fuchsia shade that you will definitely not see me rocking anytime soon. I can only get away with wearing shades like this one, during warm and sunny weather. This shade definitely doesn’t look as bright as the packaging may suggest, but it still packs a powerful punch.
