What’s in my makeup bag: December

whats-in-my-makeup-bag

Carrying around about seven lip balms in your bag, is totally normal, right?

Yup. That’s my life now. Here’s what I’ve been loving for my dry AF lips (other than this mask I already talked about): Chanel Coco Rouge Baume (fave!), Dior Dior Addict Lip GlowKaplan MD Lip 20 Mask* (in combo with their lip balm), It Cosmetics Je Ne Sais Quoi Lip Balm* and Jouer Lip Topper in Skinny Dip. No lipstick. Wearing lipstick right now, is completely out of the question for me, which sucks, guys. My lips get way too dry during the day since I started Absorica so it’s been nothing but lip balms with a touch of Skinny Dip (which actually wears very comfortably).

The Body Shop Eye Colour Stick in Gold* – I just got this in the mail last week and so far, I’m loving it. It’s very similar to Marc Jacobs Twinkle Pop Stick in Honey Bunny. I’m also loving their Down to Earth palette in Gold* and, I’ve rediscovered an old favorite- Tartelette in Bloom. Tartelette in Bloom is probably in the top five of my favorite eyeshadow palettes. It’s a beautiful palette.

clinique-superbalanced

Clinique Superbalanced Silk Makeup* is targeted toward oily/combo skin and while my skin is as dry as paper at the moment, I actually really dig this foundation, even now. I like to mix it with my moisturizer for a very light coverage and it looks beautiful, actually adding a bit of hydration to my skin. Another thing that I really like is that this shade actually matches my skin tone perfectly (03 Silk Bare). IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream* is also an all-time favorite that gives great coverage (not that I need it anymore, yay!) and it also helps with concealing some redness I’m experiencing. Also loving: Clarins True Radiance in Nude, which just a few months ago was a bit too “glowy” for my liking. Let  me tell you… now that my skin is so dry, I actually do enjoy a good glow. :) Also, not having to use a mattifying powder is a very strange feeling. Not that I’m complaining though!

I’m a Clinique fan but I somehow never get along with their foundations. They always look so orange on me.

My lips have been so dry and none of my usual lip balms are doing much so I wonder if I should invest in the Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask (will definitely give it a good thought anyway). The Body Shop Eye Colour Sticks sound pretty interesting and look great too, need to check them out in store x

Love love your choices. Tartelette in bloom is one of my top 5 fav palettes as well. I totally understand your need for lip balms right now as I’m in a craze trying to find something that completely works on my dry lips right about now. I need to try the Chanel balm as I’ve heard nice things about it previously too. Thank you for sharing doll. Xox

It’s totally normal to carry around many lip balms, if one doesn’t work then I’m sure other will ha ha :) At the moment I have three of them in my bag :D Down to Earth palette is so pretty, neutral palettes are the best :)

Can we talk about the whole foundation matching the skin thing? I was at Ulta the other day trying to find a new foundation because I wasn’t feeling the one I was using anymore. I probably spent a good 45 minutes trying to find one that fit *my* fair skin. I feel like it goes from SUPER SUPER fair to warm with nothing in between. It is so frustrating being fair. /endrant
I really need to pick up that Chanel balm. Outside of the fact that I need some Chanel in my life, I have heard from so many people how good that balm is. My lips don’t get along with winter at all, and since they keep my office so cold I have a space heater blowing on me all day which probably doesn’t help either. The joys of winter!

I have the worst luck when it comes to finding a foundation that actually matches my skin tone. Seriously. Funny thing is, I’m much better at picking the right shade than the sales associates or makeup artists at the department stores. I can’t tell you how many times I came back from the store only to look in the mirror and see that my neck and face are two different colors haha. Also, hate that most light foundations have pink undertones! SO annoying.

The it cosmetics CC cream is a must have, I just repurchased mine. I have to use my tarte palette more, sometimes I forget what a beautiful palette it is.

The clinique foundation, though! I reeeeally wanna try some stuff from IT Cosmetics, and I’m having the same issue with awfully dry sticky, horrible lips at the moment! Sucks not being able to wear lipstick!

Have you tried the Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask? My lips are also constantly dry and using that at night helps a lot. I also really like the Nuxe Reve De Miel.
