“I can’t do this“, “I’m so tired“, “I look horrible“, “I’m so stressed“- do you ever find yourself thinking these things? How often do you tell yourself “I feel great today” or “I got this!”?
You might not realize this, but the majority of the time, we tend to think about things in a negative way. We talk about things we don’t want, more than we talk about things we want, love and desire. The same thing goes for our little inner monologues. How different do you think your life would be if instead of constantly talking down to yourself, you’d tell yourself “I am in love with my life”?
Re-programming your thought patterns isn’t easy and at the beginning, it might even feel a little weird- especially if you’re a life-long complainer like I used to be. But the more positive thoughts, things and people you introduce to your life, the better life gets.
Affirmations are short, simple yet powerful statements that help to assert something to be true in your subconscious mind (sort of like making your sub-conscious thoughts, conscious). Using positive affirmations on a daily basis can really transform your life. Every morning, as I get up early, I write in my gratitude journal, I use my affirmations and start every single day on a happy, positive note.

As we welcome the New Year, I think it’s a perfect opportunity to shift your mindset a little and make sure that this coming year is a happy and very positive one- this is why today, I’m sharing these 7 Daily Affirmations. You can write them down on a piece of paper, your planner, a sticky, and make sure to read them, every single day, as many times as you want. The more you use these affirmations, the more believable they will become.
AFFIRMATIONS FOR THE NEW YEAR
I AM UNIQUE, NOTHING CAN REPLACE ME– because you should never think that you are not good enough. Remember that everyone has something unique to offer and realize just how special you are. You are a unique gift to this world.
I RELEASE ALL FEAR FROM MY LIFE– because the only way to grow is to let go of fear and do things that scare you a little.
I AM MEANT TO HAVE AN AMAZING LIFE– because you need to believe that you deserve to have a life that’s filled with love, passion, health, and happiness.
I AM GRATEFUL– because the only way to make sure that more amazing things, people and events come to your life, is being eternally grateful for what you already have.
I AM IN CONTROL OF MY LIFE– because sometimes we tend to forget this. You can’t always control what happens to you, but you can always control how you react to it.
TODAY, I CHOOSE TO BE AT PEACE– because you should never let someone ruin your day- whether it be someone cutting you off on a highway or someone being rude to you at work.
I LOVE MYSELF– because it’s the most important thing that you can do for yourself. How different do you think your life would be if you were madly in love with yourself? If you loved every single thing about yourself? I’m not talking about conceit, but acceptance, love, confidence, being comfortable with yourself. Think about it. If you’re struggling with self-acceptance or confidence, or feeling stuck, confused even, I highly recommend you read Love Yourself Like Your Life Depends on it by Kamal Ravikant. Some of you might know that I’ve struggled with depression for a few years, and I can honestly say that picking up this book changed my life.
My wish for you is that this New Year is filled with love, health, passion, gratitude, and forgiveness!

December 31, 2015 at 12:47 pmLOVE this post so damn much Paula! Beyond magical, empowering, fulfilling and mindful. Your affirmations are all so beautiful and all so true. Especially love “I am in control of my own life”, it’s a saying so powerful to remember and live by. Something I need to remember when stressed. I love that you write in your gratitude journal every morning, such a wonderful way to start each and every day. <3
I saw a counsellor earlier this year who told me to close my eyes while she said negative thoughts to me and told me to imagine it was the daily monologue I told myself that morning. She also did the same with positive thoughts and it was amazing how just by using a little imagination and a dose of reality, I felt so down and depressed and drained with the negative, and so sunshine-y and happy and refreshed with the positive. It's wonderful how positive thought patterns can shift ourselves into stars and serenity instead of negativity. Funnily enough, the other day I also saw a copy of Big Magic in the shop and immediately thought of you! The parts I flicked through looked absolutely stunning, and I'm deffo gonna buy. :D
Wishing you the happiest NY beautiful Paula! I hope 2016 sees all your dreams, wishes and hopes come true. You deserve all the happiness out there my beaut soul sis! <3

January 17, 2016 at 6:52 amI love this post. I have been trying to be a lot more kinder to myself and avoid putting myself down in these ways. You never really think about the impact that saying things like “I feel so tired” or “I’m so stressed” can have on your potential and self esteem. I have been quite good in picking myself up on it when I do think these things and then I always take it back and follow with a positive affirmation (gosh, that sounds quite corny). However there are still times when I forget to pick myself up on it. I am definitely going to use some of these affirmations.
