A heaven-sent for dry hair

John Frieda Nourishing Oil Elixir

John Frieda Nourishing Oil ElixirConfession time. I haven’t visited a hair salon in nearly a year and a half. Finding a stylist that really “gets” you and understands your needs can be a bit difficult. I was lucky enough to find a great stylist shortly after moving, but then SHE decided to move. Across the country.

I’m finally seeing someone new next Saturday, and I’m really hoping that this time when asking for a trim, I won’t end up with a bob. I’ve actually been growing out my hair for the past year and love the current length. I’m not too big on using hot styling tools, I’m also allergic to hair dye, so my hair isn’t very damaged. Still, not getting it trimmed for so long means that I’m starting to experience some dryness and split ends.

I really like to keep things minimal when it comes to hair care. I use a super cheap shampoo and conditioner ($3 each, both from Suave and work great) and occasionally do an overnight coconut oil treatment. To help remedy that awful dryness I’ve been experiencing lately, I’ve been using John Frieda’s Frizz Ease Nourishing Oil Elixir with Argan Oil.

I apply this on my hair when it’s almost dry after washing by massaging it into my hair, mid-length down. As with all leave-in oils, I avoid using this on my scalp. This Oil Elixir not only helps with the frizziness, but it also helps to seal in moisture in the ends of my hair, where it’s dry and brittle. I love that this does not weigh my hair down or leave a greasy residue, even though I’m applying it to my hair when it’s almost dry. Less is more of course,  this oil is very lightweight, but it is possible to overdo it and end up with greasy-looking hair. And that’s not cute. This oil is one of those products that makes my hair so soft that I can’t stop touching it. It definitely gets two thumbs up from me.

Oooh this sounds gorgeously divine! Due to the ombre my hair is often split at the ends, ugh I hate that so much. This sounds like a real life saving product, a must! Argan Oil is so lovely, I keep meaning to buy some. Whenever my hairdresser uses it on my hair it’s like magic dust for hair haha ;) And coconut oil treatment sounds really worthwhile <3

Best of luck with your new hairdresser love, can&#039t wait to see the stunning results! Sure she&#039ll give you the haircut of your dreams, if not and you next post your new bob, then we can all collectively hunt her down like a blogosphere MI5 crew hahaha. Hope she&#039s not reading this! :P ;) Can&#039t believe your other hairdresser moved across the country, god damn haha :O

Thanks so much my Love! Hahaha you crack me up :) I’d never guess that your hair has split ends, it always looks so lovely! I’m hoping that I’ll love it too! She’s cut my sister’s hair and she looks great and vouched for her, so if anything I’ll just blame her haha :):)

Wow, this sounds like such a treat for hair! I go to the salon every few months, but I usually regret getting my hair cut. Thanks to all the haircare products on the market, I’m able to keep my hair in at least semi-good condition!

My hair is feeling pretty dry and damaged after dying it recently so the sounds like something I could benefit from using. I really like the fact that it doesn’t feel greasy or weigh the hair down x
